Medelect Ltd

Medelect Limited is a UK Technology company founded by four doctors in January 2000 to expand on the success of an MRCP revision website that had been online since 1996. Medelect can independently create mature learning products from its own resources since it has the unique strength of expertise in three important areas of e-learning.

Information Technology - A highly efficient question engine capable of handling thousands of concurrent users and analysing millions of user responses. Educational Technology - A theory-based development and evaluation strategy has enabled the creation of practical online learning support for examinations and distance learners. Content commissioning and creation - Medelect has a team of specialist editors and authors creating original content.

The Company has received support from Cardiff University Spin-out programme, Wales College of Medicine, Cardiff City Council's Technology Fund and the Welsh Development Agency. It has attracted investment from Solvay, AstraZeneca, Abbott Laboratories, GSK, Roche, Lilly, Novo and from The Medical Defence Union. Medelect also initiated an e-commerce link with Elsevier.
