With a prevalence of approximately 2 per 1000 of the population, Gout is a common presentation in primary care accounting for a significant percentage of acute rheumatological presentations. Although common, the condition poses a number of management dilemmas. This module covers such issues through clinically rich self-assessment questions which are commonly encountered in practice.

  • Recognise the precipitants of gout
  • Understand the most appropriate treatment of an acute attack of gout in various clinical situations
  • Understand when and what to initiate in prophylaxis of gout.
